Oral Surgery/Wisdom Tooth Extraction Norcross and Duluth
Oral Surgery/Wisdom Tooth Extraction
Oral surgery is recommended for various teeth and gum problems, which can't be treated with other dental procedures. Oral surgery entails removal of teeth and cysts, and treating sick gums and mouth lesions. In addition, jaw bones are also reshaped through a surgical process. Oral surgery also includes implants and placing of bone grafts.
Wisdom Tooth Extraction
The Wisdom tooth brings numerous problems and sometimes it is impossible to avoid its extraction. Although, it varies from patient to patient, but it can cause problems and pain in the future. Extraction, therefore, prevents the occurrence of problems. The issues that can occur when wisdom tooth comes in include:
- Your jaw may not be large enough for them, and they may become impacted and unable to break through your gums.
- Your wisdom teeth may break partway through your gums, causing a flap of gum tissue to grow over them. Food and germs can get trapped under the flap and cause your gums to become red, swollen, and painful. These are signs of infection.
- More serious problems can develop from impacted teeth, such as infection, damage to other teeth and bone, or a cyst.
- One or more of your wisdom teeth may come in at an awkward angle, with the top of the tooth facing forward, backward, or to either side.
